About Easton, CT
Easton is an affluent town in the Fairfield County of Connecticut. It contains the historic district of Aspetuck. The town of Easton is situated amongst Redding, Trumbull, Weston, Monroe, Fairfield, and Newtown. The area was slow to develop due to the rough hills along the Aspetuck River and so Easton separated from Weston only in 1845. Today, half of the town’s property is owned by the Aquarian Water Company of Connecticut, which is the major supplier of water in the area. Helen Keller, the deaf and blind activist chose to spend her final days in her Easton home. The Aspetuck Historic District, Ida Tarbell House, and Bradley-Hubbell House are on the National Register of Historic Places.
